Censorship MapSomething interesting happened this week. On 20th of April, Google announced that the company has launched a new tool called "Government request" which reveals a map of the censorship around the world. Up to now there are 42 countries included that have requests content removal and 20 countries that have requested Google to provide information. The statistics is measured in the period 1st of July 2009 to 31st of December 2009. For the first time the internet search leader has demonstrated so detailed attention towards the censorship. That is quite impressive. Earth DayApril 22, 2010. The inhabitants of the Planet Earth celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Earth Day which is a popular day in the whole world. I support the Earth Day because I appreciate the popularization of these vital social messages. Although I'm still a baby in public relations (aka junior PR), I just can't skip the importance of the Earth Day and not to talk/write about it. Especially, when I see that public relations is a powerful social tool which can popularize the initiative. The aim of the Earth Day: - to provoke people to speak about the ecological problems for 24 hours and to focus on them because these problems affect people of all countries and all social and economic groups. - to raise the public awareness and to raise the awareness of the responsible institutions to the related problems and challenges.
