Your Heineken

I absolutely agree with Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, who says: "If you focus on what customers want and build a relationship, they will allow you to make money". In this sense I want to show you a nice way of building a relationship between a brand and its consumers.

Your Heineken is an option to buy 6 personalized bottles of Heineken which are designed by you. Everybody can create own bottle of beer according to what they like and prefer and may choose between several main categories of bottles design, such as: party, summer, sport, triumph, celebration, etc. You can design your own bottle by changing its color and background and adding a photo or text.

Viral Oil Spill

In order to be creative you need to activate, surprise, scare or provoke already existing associations in people's mind.

And here is one very catchy idea promoting A Cleaner Future and making us wonder what we will leave for the next generations. In the context of the BP oil spill, the agency Mark & Phil (believing in their mantra "Do Good, Create Meaning") in cooperation with the award winning multimedia postproduction house Greener Media (based in New York) created a viral video with the aim to "encourage people to find out more about clean energy sources", Advertising Age writes

The idea is really outstanding. With the aim to provoke people's attention and interest to learn more about an important topic, the viral video shows web pages being contaminated by the thick oil spill.

Smartphone Domino Machine :)

I found this curious video thanks to the Dutch Blogilvy. One more proof that people working in the field of advertising and public relations are especially creative, funny and interesting and (a little bit) crazy.

Just watch this video and you will see what an advertising agency in Italy has created. :)

"Home Sweet Home"

I found these two lovely print advertisements and wanted to share them with you.

I think that's a nice way to promote the properties you sell: you do not just sell houses and apartments, but you sell the Home concept. That will be quite attractive for all kind of buyers because everybody is looking sooner or later for his/her own ideal place which will be called Home. The emotional power especially of the first ad is strong. The idea about "moving together" somewhere is the first step of building a home together.

The Cat Promoter

Do you believe that a cat can promote your product worldwide?

Well, that's just what happened these days. A cute video of a sweet cat playing with an iPad was released in YouTube. And just for several days it reached at least to 3,031,527 people. I am sure it helped a lot for the popularization of the new Apple gadget.

And I am sure that this is the new model of integrated marketing communications.

Yes, it is unknown whether the cute video of the cat exploring the new iPad was planned to be shot and distributed in internet or not. Actually, the answer is not important at all, because the video occurred to be a great way to advertise the new Apple product.

Three big brands in Paris

Imagine three big brands with worldwide reputation gathered at one place.

Firstly, let's start with this: Ads with Jude Law always distract me. And it is very dangerous for me (and for other pedestrians and drivers), if the ads are located at the streets as billboards, or exposed on the shop windows. ;)

So now I feel really oblidged to warn all the Jude Law's fans that soon there will be a Dior TV ad, directed by Guy Ritchie and with the participation of Jude Law.

Dior. Guy Ritchie. Jude Law.

This TV ad will have WOW-effect, I suppose.

Earth Hour 2010

I found an awesome video that shows us how to help the Earth in one hour without electricity and at the same time have fun.

Besides being fun, this is a great and creative example of how to get closer to the youth audience and how to send them more interesting, even more naughty messages in order to convince them to join the initiative Earth Hour. Well done! :)

It's All in the MIX

I want to share with you a stylish and very clever online advertisement, which drew my attention, while reading MarketingWeek.co.uk. The ad compares the marketing mix with a delicious cocktail which makes nice association.

"It's All in the Mix" is an advertisement of an event called "Technology For Marketing & Advertising", which is going to take place in London, on 23th and 24th of February 2010. Regarding the creative advertisement, I think it will be really helpful event for the specialists working in the field.

The internet site of the event is telling that: "TFM&A is the UK's only integrated marketing event and delivers all the latest industry insight, trends and developments as well as leading suppliers of data, CRM, digital and now direct solutions giving you the perfect blend for truly integrated marketing & advertising campaigns."

Well done!

I wish I could participate... but still hope that similar events will be soon organized in Bulgaria, too.

University Guerrilla marketing

Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (NHL) - the Dutch university, at which I was an exchange student, opened its new building on 4th of January 2010. The new building is huge, beautiful, modern, with lots of facilities and etc.

Next to the "new home" of the university is located another university - Stenden University. And they impressed me with their interesting action on the third day of the opening of the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden's new building.

What they did is a typical successful example of Guerrilla Marketing. They located their students with T-shirts of Stenden in front of NHL's entrance and they welcomed everybody with a cup of hot chocolate and oliebollen (typical Dutch pastry similar to a doughnut). The intriguing thing is about the cups of the hot chocolate which were not plastic for one use only but normal cups (for coffee) with the logo of Stenden and with this sentense:

Welcome New Neighbours!

So now it is very easy to see cups of Steden University in NHL.

The guesture of the "gifts for the neighbour" is very sweet and nice but also pretty clever, tricky and sneezy. Very creative: It's just self-promotion in the competitor's territory.
